NEWSFLASH: Man injured as car catches light

An elderly man suffered burn wounds to his face when his car burst into flames on Garsfontein Road, east of Pretoria on Thursday.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha said at 11:19, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to what was reported to be a collision near the R25.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patient at the side of the roadway with his car totally burnt out, the patient sustained burns to his face and arms.”
Reports from the scene indicate that the man’s car just burst into flames.

A Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic and his team stabilised the patient on the scene then transported him to a Pretoria hospital for the care that he required.
