Another woman missing – found in Ga-Rankuwa

There has been an increase in the number of women reported missing in Gauteng recently.

This comes after the burnt body of Karabo Mokoena (22) was found in a shallow grave in Johannesburg last Thursday.

The hashtag #MenAreTrash did the rounds on social media last week after Mokoena’s boyfriend was named a suspect.

On Monday, another 22-year-old woman was found in Ga-Rankuwa after she disappeared on Sunday.

According to reports, the woman’s last SMS on Sunday evening was to a friend in which she said she was being followed by VW GTI near Mandela bridge in Johannesburg.

Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Mathews Nkoadi however, said no missing persons case had been opened at the station.

“We also saw the story circulating on social media, but nothing has come through to us,” said Nkoadi.
