Centurion teacher dies while marking

A Hoërskool Centurion teacher collapsed and died on Wednesday while marking Mechanical Technology papers at a Grade 12 marking centre in Pretoria, Gauteng MEC of Education Panyaza Lesufi said.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the death of one of our own, who has been described as a valued and respected educator by his peers,” said the MEC.

Lesufi expressed his deepest condolences to the family and said a team of officials will be sent to the family.

“We hope that the family will find comfort in the knowledge that we too share their loss and regard it as a huge blow to education in Gauteng and the country at large.”
