With the heatwave currently being experienced across several parts of the country, ER24 is urging people to be cautious.

Many people are still on holiday and out and about.

They are urged to reconsider their plans if it involves being outdoors for long periods of time.

Severe heat exhaustion could lead to heat strokes that may in turn result in a person losing consciousness, seizures and cardiac arrest.

ER24 is urging people to monitor those who are experiencing a severe headache, weakness or disorientation, muscle cramps, nausea or vomiting or severe thirst.

Symptoms may also include the absence of sweating due to dehydration and confusion.

If these symptoms persist, medical assistance should be sought as soon as possible.
