A man and woman were attacked by an unknown number of men at the Groenkloof Nature on Wednesday afternoon.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said medics responded to find the man and woman, believed to be in their 30s, badly injured.

“The male patient was already being assessed by another medic services,” Meiring said.

“Both the male and female patient had sustained serious injuries and lacerations to their heads and arms.”

He said ER24 paramedics treated the female patient and transported her to the Steve Biko Hospital.

Meiring said the male patient was transported to hospital by another ambulance service.

“The details of what happened were not yet clear and police would investigate,” Meiring said.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Asnath Malatsi said the attack had not yet been reported.

This was not the first time that visitors to the Groenkloof Nature reserve had been attacked.
