First ever community carnival in Valhalla.

Valhalla residents and the neighbouring community held their first ever three day Valhalla Community Carnival.

And they came in their numbers from Friday night.

Organiser Stoney Steenkamp the aim of the carnival was to bring the community together.

“We are planning to host the carnival every second year and I am happy that it started well.

“On Saturday the carnival started with a fun run at 07:00 then a dog show and ended with various activities.”

The carnival was held at Laerskool Swartkop‘s playground.

On Sunday the carnival closed with a gospel service.

Various local artists such as Bouwer Bosch  entertained the attendees with lovely music, children had their faces painted and won prizes.

The money raised at the carnival will go to the NG Valhalla, Jakaranda Children home and other community projects.
