Two men were arrested for cable theft in Wierdapark on Tuesday.

Tshwane metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said he suspected that the men, both in their 40s, cut off the cable from lampposts.

The arrests were made between M10 and R55 in the afternoon.

He said cable confiscated from the men weighed 406 kilograms.

Meanwhile, another man was arrested in the same area for possession of dagga with the street value of R1 500.
