NATIONAL NEWS: Gateway watch store robbed by armed men

A GATEWAY watch store was robbed by a group of armed men on Monday night. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North police station, officers and security from the mall reviewed footage of the robbery captured on CCTV footage this morning.

The incident occurred at about 10.30pm reported the Northglen News.

The Northglen News said that “the suspects walked into the mall. One of the suspects held up a knife to one of the security guards on site. They then smashed the windows of the store and began smashing the glass of several of the displays. The suspects took the most expensive watches from the shop before fleeing the scene.

“We believe they parked their getaway car outside the mall. It is unknown how much was taken in the robbery,” he said.”
