UPDATE: Manhunt launched following shooting of Pta woman

The police have launched a manhunt for three suspects who shot a woman in the head during a robbery in Olievenhoutsboch on Sunday morning.

According to west cluster police spokesperson, Captain Augustinah Selepe, the police are investigating a house robbery and attempted murder case after three unknown suspects attacked and robbed a couple in their home in Dimpho Street.

“It is alleged that three unknown suspects entered a room of the victim’s home while holding them at gunpoint,” Selepe said.

The suspects demanded money and cell phones from the two victims.

“A 27-year-old woman was shot through her head. She is in a critical condition in hospital.”

Selepe also said that the woman’s 31-year-old husband sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm and is in a stable condition.

“The suspects fled the scene in the possession of the victim’s property.

The motive behind the robbery is unknown.

“The police appeal to residents with information regarding the robbery to contact their nearest police station or to call Crime Stop on 086-001-0111,” Selepe said.
