Man busted for business robbery


One person was arrested when four armed men burgled a business in Centurion on Friday.

Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the burglary occurred in Witch-Hazel Avenue in Eco Park.

“The suspects gained entry through the boundary fence. They also smashed the window to the company and gained entry.”

Police said the man was arrested after security firm MonitorNet tracked and detained the culprit.

Miller said laptops were also found in the man’s possession.

“We [police] will try to run finger prints in checking if the arrested man can be linked to other crimes.”

Miller said the other culprits escaped with computers worth over R600 000.

He said a charge of business robbery was opened at the station and the man was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
