Four caught after armed robbery in Laudium

Four men were recently caught after an armed robbery in Laudium.

Police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said a pedestrian was robbed of his belongings and some cash.

“The man was walking on his way home in the Itireleng informal settlement when he was initially approached by five suspects.”

Huma said the men threatened him with a firearm, screw-driver and a knife.

“His jacket, cellphone and an undisclosed amount of money were taken.”

Huma said the police were alerted and the victim pointed out his attackers. They were arrested on the spot.

The four men had appeared in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court and remained in custody, said Huma.
