Two killed, one injured in Centurion accidents

Two men were killed during an accident in Centurion on Friday.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said a motorbike hit a pedestrian on the Old Johannesburg Road over the N1 highway.

He said paramedics arrived on the scene at 06:42.

“Paramedics found the body of the pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 30s, lying in the middle of the road,” said Meiring.

He said the man had sustained significant fatal injuries and he was declared dead on the scene.

Meiring said the body of the biker, a man also believed to be in his late 30s, was found lying some distance away from his motorbike.

Paramedics applied CPR and advanced life support interventions, but he was also declared dead on the scene.

The road was closed by paramedics, causing heavy traffic delays.

Metro police said they were investigating.

In a separate accident, another motorcycle driver (26) sustained moderate injuries when he was knocked off his delivery bike by a passing vehicle on Thursday evening.

This happened on Logan Road near Sunset Boulevard in Centurion

ER24 paramedics treated the man’s injures and took him to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
