Six in court for Centurion murder

Six men have appeared in court for the murder a Centurion businessman recently.

The business was shot and killed during a robbery at his shop on Monday.

The men, arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday, are aged between 23 and 34 years old.

The group allegedly stormed a supermarket in the afternoon, killing the owner before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police spokesperson, Constable Tumisang Moloto said the police launched a manhunt and followed up on positive leads provided by the public.

“The men were arrested in Olivenhoutbosch with the help of community members who were working together with the local police,” said Moloto.

He said they appeared briefly in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday and their case was postponed to 29 September for further investigation.
