Pokémon Go is by far the best way to bring a community of introverts outdoors and create a social environment for them, say gamers in Centurion.

Last week, Pokémon Go players from Pretoria and Johannesburg gathered in Centurion for the legendary Pokémon raiding event.

A large convoy of cars and a big crowd glued to their phones, were running around town catching legendary Pokémon.

“Pokémon Go is a great way for gamers who are most often introverts, to go outside and socialise,” said one of the players, Jonathan Esterhuyzen

“That is one of the aspects of the game that makes it so much fun and healthy.”

Many people loved the fact that the game gave them some good motivation to walk around to get Poke-stops and Hatch Poke-Eggs, he said.

Esterhuyzen said the new feature that everyone liked on Pokémon was that it allowed players to gather in large groups to do battle.

The legendary Pokémon raids will continue until the end of November, he said.

The game can be downloaded on smartphones from the Google Play Store or Apple iStore.
