Police are looking for three armed men who shot a security guard during a foiled armed robbery at a cellphone shop in Forest Hill mall on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said a security guard was shot and wounded during the robbery at a Vodacom outlet.

“On Sunday, around 09:50, three men stormed into the shop with a security guard and forced the employees and two customers into the manager’s office,” Msimango said.

“The employees were forced to open a safe. About 10 minutes later, the suspects left the victims in the office and went to the basement where they met a Fidelity security guard and shot him in the upper body.”
