UPDATE: Olievenhoutbosch axeman still on run

The police are still searching for the man who attacked a taxi driver with an axe on New Year’s day in Olievenhoutbosch.

Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the taxi driver was allegedly assaulted by his employer on the R55.

“The victim alleged that he was attacked by his employer for supposedly having taken a long-distance trip without the owner’s permission,” he said.

“[When the victim returned from his trip] an altercation between him and his boss ensued, which left him seriously injured after he was hit with an axe.”
