Residents of Mooiplaas have declared war on crime, drugs and alcohol abuse following the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in the area recently.
Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the Tshwane west cluster crime prevention team were on routine patrol along the R55 road in Sunderlandridge industrial firms when they received a tip-off about a man suspected of selling drugs in Mooiplaas.
“Swift reaction by the police resulted in a 25-year-old man being cornered in his home,” he said.
“During the search of his shack, dagga valued over R2 000 was found and he was immediately arrested.”
Moloto said in a separate incident, three women, aged between 30 to 54, were arrested for selling liquor without a licence.
“The community together with the police will continue to fight crime.”
