NEWSFLASH: Centurion man dies in paraglide accident

A paragliding crash at a Centurion airfield resulted in the death of a man.

The accident took place on Saturday morning at around 08:30.

Paramedics arrived on scene at the Grasslands airfield where the man was found near his paragliding gear, according to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak.

“The man, believed to be in his forties, had rapidly deteriorating vital signs,” said Vermaak.

Despite paramedics’ efforts the man could not be revived.

“He was later declared dead on the scene.”

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident will form part of the investigation.

Authorities attended to the scene.

Police could not be reached for comment by our time of going to press.
