The actions of two Centurion “angels” have saved the life of a young man who was stabbed during a robbery.
Tristan Kapp (21) was attacked and stabbed five times while making his way home from the Gautrain station on Thursday evening, 25 October.
According to his mother, Petrea, Kapp was walking in Hendrik Verwoerd Drive when his assailant stopped him to demand he hand over his cellphone.
“Tristan had his phone stolen in December of last year and decided to fight back,” Petrea said.
She said the assailant took out a knife and stabbed him in his left upper arm and shoulder.
“Claire and Morné Lombard with their two children in the car saw what was happening,” Petrea said.

When the attacker noticed the Lombards, he stabbed Kapp once more in the stomach and fled into the nearby bushes.
“Claire got out of the vehicle and rushed to Tristan’s side while Morné chased after the attacker. Claire alerted the police and paramedics and waited for them to arrive,” Petrea said.
“She says it felt like an eternity.”
Kapp was stabilised and rushed to a nearby emergency room.
X-rays later revealed the knife punctured Kapp’s lung.
“The family would like to thank Claire and Morné Lombard who cared enough to stop at the scene to save Tristan’s life,” she said.
